ILLEGAL SHARING OF COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL

Yeah,

Ashish is right. If anyone comes up with a technique which protects the integrity and privacy of a file even after it is fully downloaded (ie, , limited or no further downloads) , its gonna be the killer app of the future.

Any stupid idea that solves the problem or simplifies the problem will be considered treasured.

PS :P2P over web is the future .(microsoft being the past , google the present :) )

Suggestions required to Commercialise TORRENTS

Everyone knows that peer to peer based computing is mostly used for small file sharing, music, etc... However no noticiable participation is seen from the commercial side, that is, are there any softwares that have actually been shared by the company itself. As such torrent is seen in a bad light since the protocol has not much security or authenciations which are of prime importance for the distributer side. To top it all probably at least 90% of all downloads (softwares and musics) from torrent sites are illegal. I believe if the said problem is removed, everyone stands to benifit since the advantages of using torrents are faster downloads and load balanced network.

P.S. No matter what, illegal download will continue!

THE PROJECT

We intend to implement a DHT mechanism for a trackerless torrent system with additional features of geographic optimization , authentication and some more..
Our main focus will be on efficiency related to network proximity.

The project is to be implemented in a simple 3 step scheme
- a tracker oriented torrent first
- then , a trackerless one
- and finally polish it with our new features.

We expect the final product to organize and share the worlds information among the internet in a better fashion. Hopefully , it will add a new dimension to internet experience.

We welcome any collaboration , advice , or help from anyone (x).

We can also try to help those with similar interests.
